A Blessing in Disguise?

I recently sent my Leica M9P back to Leica in New jersey for repair. A stuck or defective pixel in the sensor was causing me some grief when shooting at higher ISOs and high contrast scenes. It is under warranty and should be fixed with no problem, Leica’s service is top notch.

The camera will likely be out of my hands for at least two weeks. That means more time for the Leica M2. I have many rolls of Tri-x and Portra waiting in the film fridge. I’m sure that the Rolleiflex will come out once or twice also. I will have a number of rolls to develop and scan by the weekend, with hopefully a keeper or two lurking among the many throw aways.

I shouldn’t have to be forced to use the film cameras but, I get lazy. The convenience and instant gratification of digital is hard to ignore. It helps that I enjoy the photography process with the M9P, it is as comfortable and familiar as the Leica film rangefinders.

Does anyone have any specific photo plans for the week / weekend?

I don't take hip shots. Wrestling with two cameras, I hit the shutter as I was raising the camera to my eye. I actually caught another image of this pretty woman, composed, with eye contact, and I don't like it as much as this accidental exposure.
